Danmaku Tokens have been nerfed. Since they have little purpose outside of RPing, only General Chatter and the Roleplaying forums grant you Tokens. (Oh and the daily salary's been dropped to five.)

why not insert other sprites that are from cave story just so they are there? (like Gaudi, Press, etc.? They work fine (I use them myself =3)

I honestly don't see why not. Cave Story sprites seem to fit very well in SMW hacks, and there are a lot of very well-coded ones out there.
